In the rest of the categories, Singlesnet received very high scores and was the third best rated site, except for “Number of Visitors” and “Communication with Other Members,” where it was rated 4th.

Filling Out Your Online Dating Profile:
Your profile covers the basics: age, height, body type, hair and eye color, ethnicity, smoking, drinking, strict diet or not, pet, children, occupation, and education. There are some additional questions, some of which have drop-down menus so you can elaborate. These include:
- Do you like to play sports for fun or recreation?
- Do you like to exercise?
- Do you like the outdoors?
- Are you an artistic person?
- Are you a religious person?
- Have you ever had a serious relationship?
- Tell us how long your longest relationship was.
You will also have a chance to write a short essay about yourself. It’s always nice to hear what people say about themselves in their own words.
Seeing Other Singles Profiles:
When viewing the list of your matches, you will see a thumbnail of each person’s picture, his or her location, and age. Depending on whether or not they have written a self-description, you will see the teaser of a self-written description and maybe what they are looking for.
After clicking on a member’s profile, you will see his or her basic info and all the information you were prompted to fill out for your own profile, granted s/he has filled it out. You will also get to read a short essay in which a member describes him or herself in his/her own words.
On each member’s profile, you have the option of flirting for free, sending email, saving him or her as a contact, or reporting/blocking the member if necessary.
Preferences for Your Dating Profile:
As far as being able to set your preferences in a mate, you are limited to setting location and describing your ideal partner in your written response. In “Interests,” you can see who has checked out your profile, which is always fun. There are a variety of different chat rooms sorted by location. You can also see what members are online. The forums provide a place akin to conversation by topic and classifieds.

What I Liked Most About SinglesNet:
As a non-paying member, I liked that I had the ability to email featured members. With most dating websites, you cannot email anyone unless you upgrade to a paid subscription. I also liked the simplicity of this site. Even though it may not have some of the advanced search functions of other sites, the profiles seem to convey just as well what that person is like.
What I Liked Least About SinglesNet:
I did not like that I was unable to change the search criteria other than physical location. I wanted to specify age range and physical attractiveness, and there was no way to do this. I also felt that the listed information on a person’s profile did not give a good idea of what that person is really like.
